Chrysalis

Hello, it's been a while. A lot has happened.

My name is Nova Sinclair, and I am an alter in the DID system you all know as Skylar Gray. I am pretty new in the grand scheme of things, being a result of a split that occurred shortly after a sudden breakup that Sky had to endure.

Now, you may be asking yourself, why is this person writing in here? Great question!

Today's topic is Chrysalis, which means multiple things, however the definition I am going to use is in regards to it being a state of transition.

In a previous blog (Purpose), Sky wrote a bunch about how they were a people pleaser, and that they felt elated that they got together with someone they were crushing on pretty hard.

After they broke up, we have had a lot of time to reflect on things, and the main consensus amongst myself and our system is "Holy fuck we need to break out of the people pleasing habit".

Sky put their entire soul into that person, Sky made that person the center of their universe. Sky didn't realize how much it was eating them alive. By the end of that relationship, Sky was emotionally entangled and dependent on that person, and once they were blocked, it tore them into pieces.

The state of transition we are striving for is to focus on ourselves more than we did previously. Seeking approval and constantly catering to the wants and needs of others can lead to losing one's sense of self, and that's exactly what happened to Sky.

We cannot allow ourselves to become emotionally entangled like that. Never again.

It has been a slow and difficult process so far, but not without motivation or help, and we have been making decent progress.

We are in control of our own destiny.
